Ever seen a cool building there one day and gone the next? it's happening more and more as mid-century modern buildings around Tampa Bay and Florida near 75 years old. 
Take this story about the Parliament lodge in Orlando for example.

New owners, particularly in commercial real estate, are finding highest and best use is demolition. Of course this isn't limited to only commercial. Many who follow MCM homes in Tampa Bay still miss Paul Rudolph's Leavengood residence on Park St. in St. Petersburg.

It was one of the few structures Ruldolph, leader of the Sarasota school of Architecture, designed in the Bay area. To the best of our knowledge at Tampa Bay Modern Homes, there is only one of  his designs left in Tampa Bay which is located in Thonotosassa.
​Another member of the Sarasota school who was much more prolific in Tampa Bay was Mark Hampton. He has many buildings around town still standing from schools to private residences. But that too is changing. A commercial building of his was recently raised on Florida Ave. in Tampa. This building had been modified from its original architecture for several years but it is now gone. Mid-century modern buildings are eligible for protected status from the National Registry of Historic Places and we would love to see some in the area tagged before they are torn down.
